While in his second year of law school, Carter developed an interest and understanding of tax law. With his time remaining in law school, Carter expanded on his interest in tax by engaging in tax courses and work opportunities.
Education
Carter earned his Juris Doctorate at the Georgia State University College of Law where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. During law school, Carter worked as a student attorney in the Philip C. Cook Low Income Taxpayer Clinic and excelled in tax courses including Advanced Income Tax where he was recognized with the CALI Excellence for the Future Award. Outside of the classroom, Carter was a member of the Georgia State University Law Review serving as a Symposium Editor of the Law Review Editorial Board. Carter also held a Graduate Teaching Assistant position with the Robinson College of Business where he assisted undergraduate students with the foundations of legal research and writing.
Carter holds a Bachelor of Science from Florida State University, majoring in Real Estate at the Florida State University College of Business.
Personal
Carter resides in Dunwoody with his wife, dog and two cats. He enjoys hosting and cooking for friends and family, watching sports, golfing, pickleball and volunteering at the local animal shelter.
